Despite decades of travelling to Mexico, surfers seem to always find a good reason to keep coming back. A strange combination of familiarity and uncertainty draws thousands of travellers south of the border every year.
Check out Surfing Magazine's article with great images by Tom Carey and Jeff Flindt, where the boys David Rutherford and Oscar Moncada score some excellent pics, along with celebrities like Craig Anderson, Dion Agius and more.
David Rutherford takes the win at the Quiksilver Pro displaying some very solid back-hand tube riding in front of his hometown crowd. David beat stand-outs Ricardo Do Santos, Casey Brown, and Kevin Sullivan scoring an 18.45 out of a possible 20.
Conditions ranged from 4 to 8 ft peaks at the Zicatela beachbreak where David used his vast experience in the area to take the win, becoming one of the few Mexicans to win an ASP event.
Massive stormy conditions for day 6 of the event. Outstanding performances as well as some pretty impressive wipeouts. Be sure to check out the live action on http://www.itv360.com/QuikProPuerto/live
